called FNB ebucks travel because I wanted to rent a car using my eBucks. I was told I qualify for 25% discount, and because I am on level 3, I am also eligible for an additional 5% discount but I didn’t have enough eBucks to make the booking. So after getting the amount of eBucks required to make the booking, an additional payment was still required, it seemed via eBucks site I was only eligible only for a 5% discount. Then I called FNB ebucks travel again, I was told I have a personal loan amount I never finished to pay so I don’t qualify for discount, after being sent from pillar to post. I decided to visit the FNB branch closest to my place in Fourways. I arrived at the branch around 12:39 and I was there up until 18:30, without receiving a proper resolution to the problem. I was also told I owe an amount of R234,00 that has been handed over for collections to their legal department.

My frustration is that FNB has never told me that I owe any amount of money and also I was later told that the amount was for a SIM card I was offered by FNB connect when I took a cellphone contract with them, that I canceled.

What I find very frustrating about the whole issue is that: FNB connect handed over the account that I didn’t even know I owed, without even contacting me. I am greatly inconvenienced by the way they dealt with this issue and would like to see justice done. As it has wasted not just my time but the branch staff who were trying to assist me.

Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to resolve the issue as FNB Connect refused to cooperate and asked me to come back on Monday as there was nothing more on their side they could do to resolve the issue.

My other frustration is that it’s December and car rentals run out fast in the coastal areas, I do not have another 4 days to wait to finalise my booking with eBucks.

I would like to request that this matter be investigated soonest.
