FNB Connect failing to honour warranty claim

FNB failing to honour a warranty claim on a smart device bought through FNB Connect.

I bought my Garmin Forerunner 245 music device from FNB connect in Aug 2020. There is a factory fault on the device but the problem is that FNB doesn't even bother trying to solve the matter even though the product is under warranty. I spoke to Vusi from FNB Connect support on the 2nd of December 2020 to log the problem. I was assured collection will be within a few days. I followed up again on the 5th of January 2021 only to be told it will be collected soon. I followed up again on the 12 of Jan and I was again told it would be collected the following day.

If FNB don’t even care about collecting a faulty device that is under warranty why would they even bother honouring a warranty claim and taking your best interest at heart as loyal FNB customer.

This is putting both FNB and Garmin in a bad light here all because of incompetence’s.

Very disappointing service.

This matter was finally resolved on the 3rd of February 2021. The GARMIN watch was replaced under warranty. It seems that the problem was more with Digital Planet (The Company that fulfils FNB smart device orders). The frustrating part is that I had to be without my device for two months. It took two months for me to get a replacement device. A GARMIN device that had a factory fault. This means that I lost already two months of use in the first six months of owning this watch. That is a terrible investment. The real company to blame here for the poor service is actually Digital Planet. FNB is not even aware of this pathetic service you get from Digital Planet until you start complaining. That being said. I am still a client of FNB and not Digital Planet. FNB should not be making use of companies that destroy their reputation.
