FNB Connect

***

I purchased a iPhone SE via FNB Connect including the FNB Connect sim card. I received the device on 20/08. When I tried to activate the phone, I realised the device was defective, as it would restart by itself every 2-3 minutes. I confirmed via iStore's online platform and in store that this is not something to do with the software, and that it should be sent back to FNB to replace. I logged the request on 21/08 with FNB that the device is defective and was told the device will be collected on 24/08, but it will take at least 2 weeks for a replacement phone to be provided as the phone needs to be assessed first. I phoned on 24/08 to request when the phone will be collected as I had no further correspondence from FNB Connect, only then to be told that the previous person at the call centre gave me incorrect information, and that the phone can only be collected within 3-5 working days from being logged. I phoned again today 26/08 to find out where they are in the process of the device being collected. Today I was told the distributor is still waiting on FNB for the proof of purchase before they can even log the device for collection. This is absolutely ridicilous, and I still have a defective device to which I have now to pay monthly charges at the end of this month with no clear idea when the phone will be collected, if at all. Hopefully I will have a better response via this review, as the mails I sent to FNB Complaints (***) has fallen on death ears, as I had no response as yet.

Reviewer Update
I received feedback that the device I ordered must be replaced. This will take 10-14 days, for the supplier (Apple) to provide a credit order, and then only advise if they have stock to replace the device. If no stock, the order will have to be cancelled. This is ridiculous. Why not just cancel the order from the outset, and replacing the phone with a new order.
