FNB Commercial Bond (STAY AWAY!!!)
Never take out a commercial bond with FNB. The service is absolutely horrid. In fact so bad that you can't even complain, hence the hellopeter complaint. I signed an OTP and app**** for a bond for my company and received very good terms fairly quickly from the bank. At this point a very happy customer. Then came the usual, Bond attorneys, Transfer attorneys and all the administration that is required. Our company is good with administration and all our requirements were not only submitted in time, but in fact quickly and promptly long before the required time. This is where FNB disappointed us to the point where this needs to be exciting and is now stressfull and costly. Every single requirement the bank had to give the Bond or transfer attorneys was either past deadline or lined with errors and had to be re-issued. That is Final grant letter(Overdue and late and had to be re-issued, when we received it). Guarantees(So late that we were placed on terms because of breach, as a result of the bank). Approval to Lodge(Still nothing). Our agent handling the application, has a response rate on email whenever he feels like it. I have never got hold of him telephonically, I have tried many times, It always says "The person at extension *** not available". When he does decide to respond on e-mail, Apologies for the delay I will follow up and then nothing happens. My private banker, does nothing, I have emailed and phoned her, she doesn't respond or bother to come back. In fact I have requested that she be removed entirely, no response. I have requested direct contact details of the specific department. No response. I have requested an escalation, they say they do, but nothing happens. I have asked for a superiors contact details, no response. I phone the general business desk = A bot answers. Every time I get to a person, they just direct my call back to the bot. Just One circle. It is literally impossible for me to do anything, I am sitting with hands tied. FNB Commercial is a third world company, fitting in nicely with a third world attitude and people who don't care at all. I gave notice and I'm already out of my property that I am renting, my staff is working from home, my office furniture is sitting in my loft. We are incurring extra costs. We are at the point of losing the deal and incurring costs, I literally can't do anything about it. FNB will however be sued for damages and the costs, but it is so unnecessary. If I knew this I could have taken up a bond with one of the other banks that approved. If you decide to apply for a bond at this place, think twice.
