FNB closed my business account and has still not paid out my funds months later

I am extremely disappointed with FNB’s handling of my business account and the complete lack of urgency in releasing my funds.

FNB closed my business account on 3 October. At the time of closure, there were funds due to be paid into that account. I was informed that because the account was closed, the funds would either be reversed or held for manual processing and then paid out to me.

I was told this process would take one to two months. It has now been far longer than that, and I am still waiting for my own money to be paid out.

I have provided: • Proof of payment from the sender • Confirmation of my new bank account details • All requested documents multiple times

Despite this, I keep receiving delays and no clear answers. No one can give me a firm timeline or take ownership of resolving this matter.

This is not just an inconvenience. This is a business account. Because of this delay: • Staff salaries are affected • Utilities and operational costs are impacted • My business reputation is being damaged

It is unacceptable that a major bank can close an account and then effectively hold a customer’s funds with no proper communication or resolution process.

I am requesting: 1. Immediate release of my funds into my provided account 2. A clear written explanation for the delay 3. Accountability from FNB for how this has been handled

At this point, I have lost confidence in FNB’s ability to deal with clients professionally. I will be escalating this further if it is not resolved urgently.

To top it off. I’m being charged bank charges for money that is supposed to be released long ago and the longer they hold on to my funds, the more they’ll charge.
