FNB Clients Check your Loss of Income Policy Wording for *****

On the 18th December 2018 a FNB agent contacted me to inform me that my credit card payments weren’t up to date. I explained that I have lost my job and source of income. The agent informed me that I have insurance on my credit card which covers me in the event of death, disability and unemployment.

After speaking to the agent I received a FNB text message confirming this and it also contained the FNB Claims Department phone number and email, I had to contact to claim my benefit.

When I contacted FNB Claims Department to make the claim, the FNB agent informed me that I don’t have unemployment cover on my credit card.

The person explained that the unemployment benefit will only be added next year to the insurance policy and will only be claimable next year. I have been paying for this benefit since I opened my credit card account (± 4 years).

This is insurance ***** as you cannot inform a client that they are covered for specific benefits and when such a person wants to make a claim, they are informed that the benefit is not included in the policy.
