FNB clarify the matter raised.
Early in the year I contacted FNB fiduciary services online with a view to setting up a living trust. I listed + Mobile property + Immovable property + Intellectual property (I have a book printed and in circulation, planning to publish more.) + Other assets: as things I wanted covered by the trust. No one from FNB called and I walked to the nearest branch. I thought setting a personal trust with my bankers would be more cost effective than going to attorneys. The branch I went to connected me with the relevant department by phone. It was on 21st Jan. The lady I spoke to on the phone informed me to set up a trust with FNB I would need about R8000 in registration fees and property worth R3m to my name. Listening to her, I thought I heard her talk about a trust fund. I thanked her and left the branch. Is the trust fund and living trust the same thing? Don't we have personal trusts which ordinary folks can afford to protect the little they have accumulated?
