FNB Cheque & Debit Card ***** Department careless, uncaring & ***********

I got a *****ULANT transaction performed on my business cheque card yesterday. I got an in contact SMS and Email at 16:25 (while sitting on my desk in Cape Town with my debit card in my wallet) that a transaction of R16 738.14 was reserved for Alton Towers. I immediately picked up the phone (16:26) and called the FNB ***** reporting department. While waiting on the line, I googled Alton Towers and it is a resort in England. I reported the ***** with FNB, cancelled my card and even blocked my internet banking profile because I had also gotten an SMS for an OTP request so the ********** were trying to use the card for more transactions. I emailed the ***** form to ********** and relaxed. This morning I get an SMS that I should refer the matter to disputes (not *****) because the merchant had been used before. I immediately started panicking because I have never used the merchant before. I am in Cape Town, why would I be paying for a resort in England while I am sitting behind my desk in Cape Town? I’ve never ever been to Alton Towers nor transacted at Alton Towers in my life, let alone with my business cheque card. And in my logic, why would I perform a transaction at 16:25 and then call FNB and report it as ***** at 16:26? I am so frustrated, especially because this is R17 000 of my hard earned money, not even from a credit card but a debit card. The consultant I spoke to asked me to email the ***** form again and they would re-open my case, I don’t even understand why the case was closed to begin with. I am not reporting this case as a dispute, I am reporting it as a ***** and I expect something to be done immediately about that. I want my funds refunded into my account right away and for the matter to be investigated as a matter of urgency.
