FNB - Charges for a blocked card and a canceled service
Over a year ago I ordered a petrol card through fnb under the false pretence that it came with roadside assistance. This was very clearly false advertising as when I called for roadside assistance that same month I was told that the service had been cancelled months before and was no longer a benefit that came with the petrol card. I immediately spoke to an FNB consultant on the app and asked that the petrol card be cancelled and blocked it on the app. A very disappointing experience on its own but one I’d hoped was in the past. Today I noticed a monthly card fee on my account which I never noticed before so I enquired with a consultant on the app, only to find out that FNB has been charging me monthly for the petrol card still. For over a year now FNB has charged me for a service I explicitly canceled on the app and for a card that’s even blocked. First thing I require is an explanation of how this is even possible, to charge a monthly card fee for a card that’s blocked and been inactive for over year. Second thing I require is a full refund for all the charges I’ve paid for a service i EXPLICITLY asked to be cancelled. Thirdly, I need FNB to go ahead and actually cancel this service for me. On the app I’m told I need to go into a branch to cancel it which is absurd, I got the petrol card on the app, I should be able to cancel the service the same way.
