FNB changed my debit order date incorrectly
I opened an account with FNB in January. On 14 January 2019 I signed the debit order switching documents they have sent me and sent them back immediately. I phoned them weekly regarding the status of the debit order switching and they said they are busy with it. However, the first sms I received of something done was 31 January 2019. I thought it is fine, at least everything would be fine in March.
Then, my Liberty Life debit order that went off on the first of each months from the start of the policy, went off on my previous bank account on the first of February and after FNB switched it to my FNB account again on the 10th of February. The debit order did not go off as there was no money in my account. It was three debit orders and hence R300 charges from FNB because none of the debit orders could have gone through.
I phoned FNB and they said they have no jurisdiction to change the debit order date, so I contacted my broker who contacted Liberty Life. Liberty Life then sent us the documents received from FNB which clearly states in the letter that the debit order should be the 10th of each month. So I called FNB again. After they tried to explain again that they cannot change the debit order date, I said that I have the letter and hence they did change the debit order date. I demanded that the charges of R300 be paid back to my account, however 4 agents have put me through to the next agent saying the next could help, after the 4th I have hung up, as they are really ***********. NONE OF THEM COULD HAVE HELPED ME!!!
I corrected the debit order date myself, but I expect FNB to reimburse the R300 for the three debit orders that did not go though. But how can I get that through to them if they do not even know who should help me???
I already regret moving to FNB.
