FNB can not resolve debit order issue
So I had a contract with a car rental company which cancelled beginning of October now when i got the contract the rental company loaded payment transactions to go off on the last day of each month using my bank card I never provided them with my account number.
The card which the company used to load payments expired end of October 2018, however the debit order still went off on the 30th November from the very same expired card, I contacted FNB and was told that they cannot reverse the debit order as it is loaded as a collections debt order and I needed to contact the rental company to cancel. I advised that I have a cancellation letter from the company confirming that it has been cancelled still that was not good enough for FNB to assist me. My biggest issue with this is that how does a payment go off from an expired card, and my ban is telling me the only way to stop the payments from going off is to open a new account?
