FNB - Can I please have MY money?
Good day all,
Daily for close on 3 months now i have been struggling with FNB, with whom I have been banking with for years to release my 32 savings account.
This account is very basic, you deposit money monthly via debit order and when you would like to withdraw the money you give the bank a 32 day notice for the release of the money or you pay an optional fee for the im****ate release of the money.
I opted for an immediate release of the money as I needed it way before the 32 day period ended. I saved this money up so that i could build up a deposit for a new place to rent. As you know, most rental requires 2 months deposit to be paid after an application has been approved for rental and then to pay the 1st months rent. As a single mother, I do not have these kinds of amounts of money lying around nor does my salary allow me to spare this amount of money in a months notice.
I approached FNB to query the balance of my 32 day savings and it was exactly what I needed and exactly what I had been saving towards. I gace my ntoice and request an immediate release of my minds. I was told by one of the enquieries assisstants that the money would be released within 24 hours, I was ok with this as 24 hours did not interfere with my rental agreements. 24 hours went by, I received no funds at all. I called back and was given a new date of 72 hours. Still no funds. After that I called in to the call centre and quieried this. I was told that there was ***** activity on my account and that it is under investigation by ***** Department, which I understood due to transactions that were unathorized from a service which I did not use.
The investgation went on, I was called by ***** department to confirm that the investgation was over and was then transfered and given a direct number for the Release department, I was given a specific female managers name and number to contact as they (FNB) said they(FNB) understand my urgency to have my funds released from my 32 say savings account.
Since I have dealt with the release department, I have been given new dates on each call and none of those dates did any funds come into my account.
I am now 3 months into this dilema, 96 days. So much for a 32 day savings account.
I am very frustrated as each time I call, new promises are made. I do not know where else to turn too. I feel i am being kept in a box and I actually idetify this situation as theft. Why can my own funds not be released to ME? Funds that I worked for.
I have become sick and tired with all these empty promises and do not know which other authorities to contact with regards to this matter.
Please assisst me, anyone!
Good Day
