FNB CALL CENTRE NO HELP!!

I would like to express my disappointment regarding the customer service provided by your call centre.

I app**** for the FNB cheque account on 04 Oct 2016, I was informed that my card will be delivered to me. It arrived today and I called to have the card activated. I followed the instructions, but activation and verification failed.

I then called in to the call centre for an agent to assist me. The agent, NIKITA, took my call. To my disgust and total disappointment I was put on hold for 15 minutes. When she eventually spoke to me again she informed me that I needed to go into the bank to have my card activated as I was previously a FNB account holder.

I do not understand the process and why this is necessary as I did my application online due to it being convenient for me. I am not always available to go into the bank during the times the bank is open, hence, my online application.

Being the in the customer service industry, I do not need to remind you of the telephone etiquette as well as the very important customer service that needs to be provided by the call centre agent.

It would be appreciated if you could please inform me why I need to go into the bank for this service to be activated?
