FNB Building insurance will deny you access to Plummer's report and therefore deny you access for approach Municipality 's for a bill reduction.
Took out Building insurance with FNB as my Bond is with FNB. A few years later a water pipe burst underneath my residence and water loss occurred without my knowledge for a unknown period until water pushed up from underneath the concrete. Contacted FNB and over 10 times per phone and they transferred me to there Auto and General Insurance that is external and could not assist or transfer me back to FNB's consultants. FNB though Hollard sent out a plummer that repaired the pipe. Insurance only covered R10 000 even though the FNB site for building insurance doesn't state a maximum. To Cover the amount that exceed the R10 000 will put a financial burden on me for a long time, but the municipality is willing to reduce the amount based on the Plummer's Report. Between FNB and Hollard they are refusing to provide the plummer's report. Therefore be warned if you are insured with FNB and they allocate the plummer and your municipal account is more that what they cover you can't approach the municipality to reduce the water and sewage bill as they will deny you access to the plummer Report.
