FNB BF Penalised for badly configured product offering
Not happy with the FNB Black Friday (BF) service and outcome I had to experience and the fact that the FNB Servers, Services and Product errors on their side resulted in this outcome.
This complaint is not about slower loading times, or 98% of the time receiving an "Error ...we are investigating the cause" response. I am not satisfied with and I feel that I am being penalised for a badly configured product for the following reasons.
I was looking at the BF offerings and there was the R185 p/m for 36 months offer listed. I clicked this and completed the next steps and submitted for the TransUnion credit check only to be greeted with the Error page. Why must I be penalised for a post-process after I should have formalised the purchase/contract agreement?
But this would not be the only reason to demand that FNB compensate me, after the first failure I had to spend another hour trying again, I finally got the page again, got as far as the TransUnion page and this time it loaded a blank page and of course when I went back it took me back to the first Product page and I lost this one also due to FNB issues.
I do demand that FNB seriously review and I hope your response will be favourable as the 2 issues are not the only complaints I have. No, I did manage to get 3 more product pages for the Sony Playstation 5 at R185p/m BUT these also failed for various reasons, one also for selecting the wrong product! I checked there is ONLY ONE default product option NO WHERE was there an option for me to select one (and the mistake to be on my side).
I do not want a simple excuse or apology for the inconvenience as I do not feel like this was merely a 'server load and disruption issue' The FNB product was badly configured and the process failed and penalised me negatively when I in fact already managed to opt in for the product and the contract.
At this stage, I have not taken further steps to report the issue to the relevant reporting channels (Ombuds, NCC etc) to allow FNB to respond first.
I have photos of some of the screens and stages of my attempts online and your system messages etc which I cannot add to this report.
