FNB - Beware of this malicious bank

I've been trying to help a family member sort out some debt with this bank and as a 15-year business and personal client of this bank, I'm stunned by the outright malice of their credit teams and their collections agents GL Attorneys. This person lost their job before Covid and even so managed to reduce their credit card debt from around R50 000 down to about R20 000. At that point towards the end of last year, their collections agents offered a full and final settlement of about R14 000 in writing. But instead of negotiating with the client and coming to an agreement, they are now instead ignoring all of the payments to date and are trying to force an amount of more than R60 000 again.

Neither the attorneys nor the bank are returning any correspondence - which is made worse by the fact that this person is now overseas and only email correspondence can work. They are trying to do the right thing by trying to sort this out but nobody will respond - and this bank has completely ignored more than R30 000 in payments made to them on a debt. BEWARE OF THIS BANK.
