FNB bad service
After inadvertently depositing money via EFT from Capitec account to incorrect FNB account, I contacted FNB telephonically to verify the account number into which the funds were deposited. I was advised it was an invalid account number and that the funds would bounce back into my account. I then contacted CAPITEC to explain what FNB told me, they also said that they money would bounce back if account number was invalid. I again contacted FNB and was THEN told it was a valid account number . I went to a FNB branch, waited for a very long time in the queue, I was instructed to call the ***** division. FNB refused to contact the recipient to try to recover the funds or assist me in any other way. In the light of the POPI Act it is now impossible as an individual to trace the recipient or even approach the court to recover the funds, without the help of the banks. This is bad service.
