FNB Atrocious customer service

I have had endless frustrations with FNB since trying to open an account right upto now where i require a letter of credit for an overseas supplier for my own business protection (a well known payment term process when dealing in import and export. The bank refuses to provide me with the said letter based on the account being less than 2 months old and another issue with TELKOM. Here is the Kicker - A credit application is done and declined despite the fact that there is no risk for the bank because the cash is readily available and in my account (In otherwords the bank cannot underwrite a letter for me as a customer for my protection, with my money that I hold in their account). By process, once the bank issues the letter requested, the cash is moved to an investment account to which I have no access until the supplier is paid. Once proof of goods and shipping is provided by the supplier the cash is released directly to the supplier by the bank (my cash). I have in all communications spoken to one person after another who is unable to think laterally or find means to assist me as a customer. I was previously an FNB customer (25 years ago) and subsequently moved to Standardbank , where I have been ever since. I am sad to say that the incompetence that I have experienced at FNB hasn't changed. I am now considering reverting back to Standardbank to open my business account, where my personal account is currently held. Thank goodness I havent moved that account over to FNB despite all the bells and whistles they flash in front of you to get you to do so. So they are happy to open accounts but that is unfortunately where it stops, after that it is one apology after another but nothing changes. I would certainly not recommend anyone to use FNB out of my personal experiences
