FNB ATN U?S

I wanted to do a transfer, to pay some bills, and we usually do it at our local FNB ATM machine in Riebeek Kasteel. I went there yesterday and it was as dead as the dodo, NO signs of life, so we went home. We tried again this morning, and the screen was working, but we could not insert our cards, so, once again, we had to leave with unfinished business. I noted a number on the machine to inform FNB of problems, ***, and dialled it. After hanging on for about 10 minutes I spoke with a charming lady who told me that this was the wrong number and that I should call ***, which I did. Once again I hung on for about 10 minutes and then I was told that I needed to call a 3rd number ***, which I did. The woman at the end told me that they were busy, so I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, and after hanging on again, for about 10 minutes, she told me that she could not find anyone prepared to talk to me. So I gave her my number and requested that someone phone me back. They did not. I gave up. Why do FNB make life so difficult for their customers? Having a non-working ATM is bad enough, but not being able to report it is even worse. The last woman I spoke with could not even find the ATM on the FNB system. Useless. We will have to take a 50km drive to Malmesbury branch to sort this out. And this is the only ATM in the village.

*******. It is now 3 days, and we have been unable to do any transfers or draw any cash. 1st day the ATM was dead. 2nd day it was alive but had no access to money of transfers. 3rd day it seems to be working until we put out cards in, entered our PIN's and the ATM simply spat out our cards. So we cannot pay our bills or draw cash for the weekend, and will probably have to drive the 80km round trip to FNB in Malmesbury to get this sorted. I think that FNB should offer us an ex-gratia payment for the inconvenience, and petrol costs. R2000 would be acceptable.
