Fnb at the bottom of the food chain

I recently experienced an issue with an unauthorized transaction on my FNB credit card, and the way the bank handled it was extremely disappointing. Upon noticing a transaction labeled "Mac and Things" for just over R1,000, I contacted FNB to query it. I was immediately told that my credit card had been compromised and was advised to contact the ***** department. When I did, I was informed that the only solution was to cancel my card and then report the transaction. The next day, I received a call from Ronald at FNB, who claimed that this transaction was actually linked to a purchase I made with Temu six months ago, which had not been processed at the time. When I asked how the bank could allow a six-month-old transaction to go through without informing me, and why I was not given this explanation the day before, I received no clear answer. Instead, Ronald shifted the blame to Visa, suggesting they may have been informed by Temu and failed to notify me. This experience highlights serious issues with FNB’s customer service: Poor communication and misinformation from staff A complete lack of accountability for their own processes No proactive measures to protect customers from delayed or suspicious transactions Customers trust their bank to manage their accounts professionally, but FNB has demonstrated incompetence and indifference. If this is the level of service provided, I would strongly advise others to reconsider banking with FNB.
