FNB are the real **********

I called the FNB ***** line on 5 April to report ***** and cancel my credit card as a transaction went off that was not made by me. I was told that someone had gotten hold of my card details and was trying to buy many things online, but not to worry, I would only need to fill in a form that was emailed through to me and the first transaction that alerted me to the ***** (of almost R600) would be refunded within 5-7 working days.

I called back 3 weeks later (on 24 April) to find out what was happening with the refund (which FNB had been charging me interest on, by the way) and the man on the other side said "oh it's been processed, it should clear in the next day or 2.

Last Friday (1 May), the money had still not been refunded, so I called again. I was told that the credit card ***** department was closed for the public holiday and I would have to phone back on Monday (today, 4 May) and was given the number to dial ***) as well as my case number (***).

Today, when I called that number and gave that case number, the lady on the other side said that there was no ***** case, there was only a 'dispute' and that the money wouldn't be paid back to me because of this. She could also see that my card was cancelled, but apparently these things have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

I don't know how the other times before today I was assured everything was fine and a month later everything is not fine at all, but this is ********. I can't believe that you treat customers that have been with you for over a decade like this.
