first things first, I have been with STD bank from the age of 14 or so, I am now in my early 40s, I haven't had any issues with my current bank thus far, I have taken out my home loan with FNB a few years back, as my wife banks with FNB, for the past 2 years now I have been calling and upping my bond repayments with FNB HomeLoan department, and these people kept on telling me to move to FNB as they will give me a 0.25% decrease on my interest rate GUARANTEED, I am that hard person if I'm stuck with something it will be very hard to change, come what may they have convinced me and I decided to move to FNB after speaking to the consultant on 9th, got an appointment with the bank at greenstone branch, and even that consultant assured me of the 0.25% interest rate decrease on my home loan. All excited and decided to move all my debit orders the same weekend, I even called FNB to change my debit order for the home loan to the new FNB account. Guys please read carefully, this is a **** at FNB, they just lure clients to join their bank, the lie to you on your face and only when you have moved everything from your past bank to this new FNB bank, they do not care for you anymore, they refuse to help you, they keep passing your from pillow to post, my blary debit orders are all changed to the new account, i even got my employer to change on her side, and not it such a pain to try and reverse everything back to my old account, I was about to close the STD bank account this week as well. Guys I am telling you, PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TO THIS BANK IF YOU WITH ANOTHER BANK. It's just lies and lies and lies and more lies. but guess what guys, my wife is so so upset that she has now decided to close her FNB account and move to either standard or another bank of her choice, my daughter as well moving from her bank to another, and further more we will be taking out another bond soon, this will never be with FNB even if they have the best rate, this is my guarantee. I should have looked at the reviews before I decided to open up this new account with FNB, but I have been caught, unlucky me, but an eye opener for you nice guys out there, don't let them bluff and brainwash you into moving to their bank, I am even considering Capitec. SO FNB YOU HAVE LOST 3 CUSTOMERS, which can be small for you, but hopefully if our wonderful customers just read the reviews before moving to you, they could save themselves the hassle and disappointment that i have suffered and still suffering. and to top it all, the consultant at the bank said to my wife and I, you guys have such a great credit score !!! didn't mean anything to them anyway for you to get treated like this. I hope this message goes out far and wide and also for students and kids wanting to open a bank account. Good luck guys, save yourself from these people.
