FNB app/Online banking
So i have a Joint Home loan with my wife like many other people, nothing special.
So we get told just before lock down that all our statements will only be able to be accessed via online banking/the FNB app, which makes sense i mean how hard could that be to access....
So we go into lock down and like many South africans we have to apply for FNB's covid relief scheme....and that's where it all begins.
We go online, hit register, put in all relevant details and get met with a awesome message ( (E-4008) You do not have permission to access to this account). Mmmm weird, then who has permission to our account.
So i phone the call centre....next joke. I get passed from department to department for 45min's to be told i need to go into a branch to sort this issue out. Now my first thought is why on earth would anyone need to go into a physical branch to sort out an error like this and that's not even taking into account that your asking me to go to a public place well we have a health pandemic going on...
So i go into a branch, spend 40min's for them to help activate my online profile cause they had the same issue and had to get assistance from the call centre that couldn't help me...ya
So my FNB app works fine and i can do what i need to...
Now I only having a home loan with FNB one wouldn't need to access the app very often, i mean home many times do you need to check your statements... oh but then you run into another issue.
If you don't access your FNB app within 25days your account goes inactive and you have to get this......re-register online. Okay no problem i mean i have an online profile now so should be easy....Nope you get met by a fami**** message again ((E-4008) You do not have permission to access to this account).
So i call the call centre again to see if they could assist with this issue to be told their tech department is looking into it as this is a new issue... uhm no it's an issue that's been around since march so how is it not fixed yet? Sorry sir we have logged a ticket but in the meantime please go into a branch for them to assist you further.....what a joke.
So FNB question: 1. how long does it take to sort out an error like this? 2. why on earth would you put an active/inactive status on an account that does not get viewed very often?
And on a side note maybe get your tech team to change your operating times on your website as it currently states your open from 8am till 7pm when in fact your call centre is only open till 5pm
