FNB Apple watch and eSim confusion

FNB does not provide an eSim. But they sell you a watch that can utilize a sim card function? I tried calling FNB Connect who referred me to FNB Tech who referred me to FNB connect who could not answer this question. Do I just get an MTN number that works with apple watch? How do you sell a watch with a sim that doesn't work with a sim?
