FNB APP Harvesting - a ****?
84 hours ago I received a response from FNB regarding FNB bullying and forcing me to use their FNB APP within the next 10 days. FNB said the issue had been escalated and I would be contacted within 24 hours - 84 hours later and there has been no response.
I have two FNB accounts, one business account and one personal account - the last time the bank themselves tried it was shown that their FNB APP cannot manage two accounts from one phone - now in these dire times it persists in bullying me to use their FNB APP which requires a smartphone. Why? For security they say... but everywhere on the internet there are warnings that BANK APPS are not secure. There are also numerous warnings that banks are harvesting clients personal data for their own and their chosen others uses.
Why now would it be more secure to do banking on one device (through the APP and receive OTP through the same APP) than on two recognised devices (the internet via PC and receive OTP via SMS on phone) ?
This evermore looks like FNB has some ulterior motive and their lack of response compounds this thought.
Two accounts do not work on one APP - where should I move my business account to in the next week?
Banking on fixed location verified by FNB themselves PC and receiving SMS notification on an independent device (classic cellphone) of Logins, transactions and OTP is according to FNB not as safe as doing banking on small smartphone devices with their APP, all (transact, notify, OTP and all) done on one device it seems.
Guys be careful of being data harvested.
