FNB Apalling Behavior

As a loyal FNB client,I recently upgraded from an FNB Gold account to an FNB Private Clients account.I received my cards on the 9th of May 2017.I activated my cards online.I tried using my cards at retail outlets but was very embarassed, humiliated and frustrated when the cards were declined. To add insult to injury , I was charged card declined fees.I sent an email to my so called "Personal Banker" Lawrence Owen with absolutely no response including an automated one.I called the FNB Private Clients help line and spoke to Samuel Maabane, whos stated that Lawerence Owen was on leave. My problem was still not resolved.Due to my busy travel schedule I managed to visit the FNB branch at Merchant Place a week later. The FNB agent managed to activate my cheque card but informed me that the credit card was part of a faulty batch and that this was known for sometime.FNB never care to inform me by telephone,SMS or email me that this was indeed the case. The FNB agent stated a new card would be delivered to me and the FNB courier would contact me soon.FNB has to date not contacted me.I eventualy called the FNB Private Clients call centre on 9 June 2017 and spoke to Zanele Kenjana informing her of my situation.I instructed her to cancel all my Private Clients accounts and reactivate my FNB Gold accounts. After the call I sent her an email and copied in Lawrence Owen.Samuel Mabaane and the FNB Private Clients generic email address. On the call ,I also requested Zanele Kenjana to acknowled my email via return email. This was not done.I sent a reminder email on the 10th and 11th of June 2017.Still no response whatsoever.I feel like I am non existent.I use my FNB credit card almost daily and have not used it now for over a month due to this issue. This has caused me much inconvenience and many sleepless nights. My personal life is sufferring.

I have always praised FNB for their innovation and customer service but know all those views have changed.

Has FNB forgotten the man in the street?

Capitec looks very promising.

M Moodley

********** 515
