FNB and their delivery service DSV allow practices that may promote bank card *****.

The only reason FNB gets a star is because zero stars is not an option. But this message is basically to notify all potential (and current) clients, since this cavalier attitude towards bank cards may well be responsible for at least some of the card ***** on the market. Have been trying to get my bank card delivered to my address for almost two weeks. Unable to get useful feedback from either FNB or their extremely dangerous delivery company DSV. I have contacted both the bank and DSV numerous times both in writing and telephonically to arrange the exact time and location; at best I receive a reference number and a promise that my concerns will be "investigated", whatever that means. At no point have my clear instructions been heard. I was finally told today they would "most definitely" deliver at 1430 and left work early to make myself available. Not only did the card not arrive, but I was told casually that no one could reach the driver and had no idea where driver (or by extension my bank card) can be found. I have notified the ombudsman for banking and been told it will take 15 to 20 days to get to my complaint. Meanwhile my bank card remains in circulation at some unknown location in the interim, being cloned or whatever else happens to cards when they are unaccounted for.

I am in the process of closing my FNB account but need access to it until my debit orders can be transferred. This is just a warning to the public that FNB *should be avoided at all cost*. No insitution that is happy to let your bank card (with all the sensitive information it carries) be unaccounted for, should EVER be allowed to be the guardian of your life's hard labour. If you currently bank with FNB, please do the wise thing and consider switching. If you don't bank with them, ensure that you never do. If this is what goes on when you take a closer look at their dealings in the open, it terrifies me to think what happens behind closed doors.
