FNB, an arrogant organisation that clearly doesn't value its clients
I reside in Australia and have a Non-resident FNB account in South Africa. On 31 January 2022 FNB called me on my mobile after midnight, despite any regard for the time difference and my non-resident status. The purpose was to verify my email account, despite the fact that I've emailed the bank on countless occasions FNB needed the email so that they could email a self certification form. So, on 2 February 2022, I duly received the form which I completed and, in accordance with the instructions on the form, returned it on 3 February 2022 . On 21 February, I issued instructions to Momentum to transfer funds to my Non-resident Account. On 22 February, Momentum advised me that the account appeared to be inactive, so, I contacted the Non-resident Centre for clarification and attached a statement which showed the account active and with the monthly service fee deducted every month including the service fee on 31 January 2022. I received a short response from the Non resident centre, stating that the account wasn't active and that I should complete an attached form to ensure that my FNB profile was compliant, the exact same form that I returned on 3 February 2022. How shocking that FNB would de-activate my account without making any contact or without any notice. How shocking that they would charge me service fees, despite de-activating my account. How shocking that they would call me after midnight to verify an email address and even after I had explained that they had woken me and the time of night, yet they continued to make their enquiry unapologetically. How shocking that this bank still has any clients. Arrogant organisation that clearly doesn't value its clients!
