FNB allows *****ulent transactions

I have been an FNB client for over a decade, and I am writing to formally report ongoing *****ulent transactions on my account which FNB has not yet resolved. These transactions involve two merchants: Uber Eats and Rain.

1. Uber Eats *****ulent Debits For the past two years, my account has been repeatedly debited for Uber Eats orders that I did not place. To prevent this, I previously cancelled my bank card; however, the unauthorized debits continued.

On 24 January 2026, while travelling to Mpumalanga, I received a notification for yet another Uber Eats transaction. I immediately cancelled my card and ordered a new one through the FNB mobile app.

To my shock, on 25 January 2026, Uber Eats debited R169 from my account again. When I queried this with an FNB advisor, I was told that the order was processed using my new card ending in 1164.

How can FNB authorize a transaction on a card that has not yet been issued, activated, or physically received by me?

This incident suggests a serious security breach, and I urgently request that FNB assist me in recovering all funds lost to these unauthorized Uber Eats transactions.

2. Rain – Unauthorized Monthly Debits I cancelled my services with Rain in August 2025. Despite Rain confirming the cancellation, they have continued to debit my account monthly. I even opened a ***** case with them (***), yet the debits persist.

FNB has been unable to recover these funds or prevent further debits. Instead, I was asked to obtain a cancellation letter from Rain—despite already providing FNB with evidence confirming that the service was cancelled.

My concern is:

If Rain refuses to issue this letter, does that mean I will continue to suffer unauthorized debits indefinitely, with no protection from my own bank? I request that FNB urgently refund all monies deducted by Rain since October 2025 and take immediate steps to block any further unauthorized transactions.
