FNB Account put on hold for NO valid reason!
Case number : ***
I have been a faithful customer of FNB for almost 23 years. I am the founder and Senior Pastor of an established church for over 20 years. I have a personal bank account and the church bank account with FNB, operative for close to 20 years.
I was told that the church account has been put on hold or locked due to some "*****ulent activity" from 27 December 2024 and is still locked today 3 January 2025. This was done without notifying me or consulting me. The so called *****ulent activity has not been communicated or verified. This is very unprofessional and *********.
Take into consideration that this church account has utility bills that are due, debit orders that need to go through, salaries that need to be paid, accounts that need to be paid and many other miscellaneous needs. There is NO *****ulent activity on this account and NO solid information has been given or discovery made by FNB to substantiate locking the church bank account. And the dates of such "*****ulent activity" is not reflecting on 3 statements.
The customer service is extremely poor. They told me this will only take a maximum of 72 hours to resolve and when 72 hours was almost complete, they said it can be up to 30 days. There's no way of contacting the investigating officer (Sithembiso Nhlanhla). I have emailed him and got no response from him until now. When I call into customer service they tell me that they do not have a line for the officer and gave me an email address. Why am I, as the customer doing your job? It is YOUR job to find out what is happening and communicate the issue with me. This is very frustrating and has caused unnecessary stress.
Our church team also went through all banking statements to try find out what transcations could possibly be in question. There is NOTHING that warrants FNB to lock my account and deny access the the funds.
I found a few payments made to the church account from a member's credit card of menial amounts of R250 (which is not ******* or *****ulent activity). If this is what FNB calls "*****ulent" please hold onto those amounts until your so called "investigation" is complete. How can it take this long to investigate a simple matter and communicate it to me as the account holder? This is not a crime scene. Communicate what's the issue and resolve it. If there is no issue, apologize and compensate me as the customer.
My personal account is now going into arrears and people cannot be paid salaries, while your employees collect a salary and bring no resolve to the issue and have no urgency to communicate with me. This is shockingly *********** service and has caused me to lose all trust in FNB.
I need access to my account before I take legal action especially when you find this church bank account free from any *****ulent activity.
Who's going to compensate this ministry and the people affected by your incompetence and vague accusations? What guarantees me that FNB will not repeat such a foolish act again?
The public needs to be warned and legal action needs to be taken against you.
I will be considering closing all bank accounts with FNB and moving to a more reputable bank that values long - standing and faithful customers.
FNB cannot be trusted anymore with handling my money.
PLEASE UNLOCK my account!
