FNB account fees

FNB your assistance is required in the reduction of my account fees, i have have a FNB account for some time now which had not been in use for a few months which resulted in my account fees being close to R8000, my question is why am i told that due to the fees being above R250 it cannot be reversed, there is clear indication that the account had not been used yet i am still charged an enormous fee, the account had been down graded and i have spoken to the agents on the secure chat, i am requesting that the fees be reversed to enable me to make use of the account once again, if FNB is not able to provide me with a satisfactory resolution i will have no choice but to escalate the matter as it seems very unfair to be charged for something not in use and not even be contacted by FNB when they notice the account is dormant or the fees are exceeding a specific limit.
