FNB Accidental Death Cover

I have a problem, I have a funeral cover and accident death cover with you FNB and I have been paying for years now. I went to one of their branches to renew a card, only to find out that my covers have lapsed. I wasn’t aware of this and do not know why it happened because I have not changed the account which you debit me from. I managed to recover the funeral cover but not the Accidental death plan. I have did not receive any email to make me aware of this problem, the consultant told me that an sms was sent. I do not think such a critical matter can only be communicated via sms, I had no plans of cancelling my cover with you fnb and I do not think it was my responsibility to check whether they take money from my account or not, especially knowing that I never stopped you them from debiting me. I would have never known about this issue had I not gone to the branch to renew my card. Paying for all these years and having my account secretly lapsed sounds *****ulent to me.
