FNB Abuse of customers
I wish to complain about the behaviour of FNB and other banks during this time of Covid.
I have banked with FNB since I was a student in 1975. I have had current accounts, Business Accounts, a Home Loan and a Wesbank Car Finance Loan with FNB, so I have given them a lot of business over the years.
Recently one of my Business Accounts disappeared from my online profile. On investigation I found out it had been closed due to inactivity for three months. This was done without any communication from FNB – no email, sms, phone call or letter. They just acted without asking me or advising me and closed my account.
Now to open the account FNB cannot help me online or via email, or on the phone, or on secure chat. I must go into a branch and waste my time & risk Covid Infection by being in a closed environment surrounded by people. This is a great inconvenience to me and a source of concern and stress.
You would think that in this time of the Covid 19 Pandemic that FNB and other banks would be more sympathetic to people and businesses. My business is in travel and I have had no work since March 2020 and have had no income since then either. I am forced to live off my savings and investments which are rapidly depleting. You would think FNB would contact me to discuss matters or see how they can help, not just close your account with no warning or communications.
I think this is very one-sided and quite outrageous. I know of another person who had a similar experience with Standard Bank. Have other people out there had a similar experience?
Again this is completely outrageous treatment of a client, especially during this Covid Pandemic.
Not 10 minutes after the call from the attorneys but a get another call from a Debt Revue Company offering to consolidate my debts. Wow!
