fnb *****

Dear FNB Ethics and Complaints Department,

Good day.

My name is Aileen Chetty, and I am writing to formally bring to your attention a matter of serious concern regarding the conduct of an individual claiming to be associated with First National Bank (FNB).

This individual has been contacting and accusing me in my personal capacity regarding alleged *****ulent activity. However, no official police case number, formal investigation documentation, or confirmation that this person is acting on behalf of the authorised FNB ***** Investigation Unit has been provided to me.

I have also been informed that a family member of the complainant who works at FNB has been communicating with my mother-in-law regarding this matter and may have provided information or opinions about alleged transactions. My understanding is that this individual is not part of the official ***** Investigation Unit. If this is correct, I am concerned that information may be misrepresented or shared outside of the appropriate investigative process, which could lead to misunderstandings and reputational harm.

My concern is specifically that an individual who is not authorised to conduct ***** investigations may be involving themselves in this matter and possibly contacting external companies or sharing information in relation to it. This raises serious concerns regarding conflict of interest, misuse of internal position, and the confidentiality of customer information.

I would also like to place on record that I am personally a client of FNB under Private Banking, and I currently hold investment accounts and financial products with the bank. In light of the situation described above, I am deeply concerned about the security and confidentiality of my personal and financial information.

Knowing that individuals who are not part of the authorised investigation team may be discussing matters involving my name raises serious concerns about whether my banking profile and personal information can be accessed or misrepresented by employees outside of the appropriate channels. This situation has caused me to feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe continuing my banking relationship, as I expect that all client information—particularly for Private Banking clients—be handled with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and internal control.

For the avoidance of any doubt, if there is a legitimate investigation involving my name, I remain fully willing to cooperate with the appropriate authorised department within FNB or with any law enforcement authority. My concern relates specifically to the conduct of individuals who may be acting outside of the proper investigative and confidentiality procedures.

Given the seriousness of these concerns, I kindly request that this matter be formally investigated by FNB’s Ethics and Compliance Department and that I be provided with written confirmation of the outcome. Should it be found that any employee has accessed, discussed, or shared information relating to my profile or this matter without proper authorisation, I reserve the right to escalate the matter to the relevant regulatory and oversight bodies.

As a Private Banking client, I trust that FNB will treat this matter with the urgency, confidentiality, and professionalism expected from a leading financial institution.

Kind regards,Aileen Chetty
