FNB A DISGRACE
On the 2 August i was ****** at the BP garage on Beyers Naude at 7H57. I got back to my vehicle at 8h07.
They stole my laptop bag out my vehicle, inside my bag was a SEALED ENVELOPE from FNB with my new Premier Cheque account card. I did receive the evelope a few days earlier but did not open it because i was still waiting on FNB for my document to switch my accounts.
I went on my FNB application to report the card ****** and noticed that the card is active. I cancelled the card immediately after my cancellation i received a notification that R 3000 was withdrawn from my Gold account. My cancellation via the application went through at 8h16 but the funds withdrawn happened at 8h13.
I logged at complaint with ***** and went into the bank on Republic road, at the bank the consultant saw the my cards where still active and my accounts linked. We cancelled and de linked everything including my online banking and application. She issued me a new Gold card at the branch.
I followed up numerous times with the ***** department on my case and they kept saying its under investigation, they just kept saying they will call me back what never happened. I finally got info on my case and it was logged incorrectly and placed on a deadlock status.
I asked the ***** department to lodge the claim correctly and they said not sure if it would help due to the status and referred me to complaints department. The complaints did try and help but due to a deadoock status nothing can be done about my case.
I did receive a letter from FNB stating that its my own fault and i did not cancel my card in time, I find this outrageous.
My 3 questions i keep asking FNB:
1) Why was my Premier cheque card active? 2) Why was my Premier cheque card sent with a pin? 3) Why was my Premier cheque account linked to my other account?
I find the help and letter from FNB a disgrace!
