First National Bank. - lip service to client service only

Another complaint about First National Bank.

FNB sweeps its clients you use the banking App. on the Windows Mobile platform aside - favouring only those who use iPhone and Android operating systems.

Having already some months back, cut off Windows Mobile users off from any new upgrades to its banking app software, including its new Smart inContact service with enhanced security, FNB finally took the unilateral decision at the end of last week to switch off all versions of their Windows banking app, leaving hundreds of customers such as I in the dark.

One would have thought maybe at least a polite little email or direct message to users informing them that there was a switch off happening and why; perhaps even offering a special deal to swop to Android or other smartphones such as the company supplies on terms - how about handing out some free complaint smartphones? Where's the abundance mentality?

But no, a complete shutdown - very inconvenient to customers who just happened to be shopping at the time and who rely on the app to make transfers when mobile.

In addition, eBucks users are required to 'use the FNB App at least 3 times per month' in order to gain certain eBucks credits. So what of that programme? Should we change to another bank?

All in all the situation stinks. It stinks of total disregard for the right of free choice of its customers and it stinks of colusion with the manufacturers of the chosen cellphone operating systems.

FNB. How can we ***** you today?
