First national bank Kyc programme placing holds on business accounts...

I received an sms from fnb requesting that i visit my branch, merchant place, and update the fica for my business account and the accounts linked to it. 1. Business cheque account. 2. Business call account. And 3. Trust account. I visited my branch the next day and did as requested. Only to be told that a hold has been placed on all of my accounts. The lady assisting me tried to call my bank relationship manager to lift the hold. She stated that a hold has been placed on so many businesses and everyone is complaining. She stated that its the KYC (know your customer) campaign. I waited out the entire weekend and still no lift so i went back into my branch on the Monday and was informed by another lady that i had to hand in my updated Cpic document. After handing in the updated Cpic document i received an email from fnb stating that the hold will be lifted within 24 hours.

Within those 24 hours i received another email from another relationship manager stating that i had to fill in and sign all of the attachments. Eg source of funds from SARS and various other forms.

I have filled in and signed everything that was requested and still no lift on the hold.

I have clients that i need to pay threatening to sue me, lay charges against me, report me to the PPRA (Estate agencies affairs board). No one is being effected here but myself and my business.

This effects so many people: 1. My landlords, 2. My tenants, 3. My agents, 4. My admin staff, 5. My family, 6. My creditors, 7. My name, 8 My companies name, 9. Everyone involved with my companies name.

I've reached the point where i am either moving all my business to another bank eg Investec or close my business because of the shame that this situation is bringing on me.

Enough is enough Fnb.

1. Is there an alternative to business banking? 2. How do i clear my name with my clients and the above?
