First National Bank
I have been a client of FNB's for over decade, my home loan, insurance, credit cards etc are all through them. I have not once missed a payment on any of my accounts.
I app**** for a further loan on my bond so that I can settle my accounts I have with FNB. (The irony) and free up cash for myself.
First off - fill in all of the paper work, send it off to FNB. Nearly a week later, no feed back from FNB. I keep on following up. Bond gets declined because of affordability This I find out because I am the one constantly following up. Again, not even a courtesy email. Eventually somebody from FNB calls because I get upset. I would not apply for something I could not afford!
But here is the cracker.....
So further bond is declined, on the amount I requested it would have been roughly R2500 extra a month (which by the way I can more than afford and my existing accounts with FNB will be settled in full, bringing my installments on all the other accounts to ZERO), however - I am then offered a pre-approved personal loan of R195 000 (installment amount will be DOUBLE than that of the further bond). I then get offered a temp loan of R10 000. Wesbank then pre-selects me for a R700 000 loan to customize my re-payments on a car??
I am confused and very upset. I thought FNB was out to help their clients, not push us deeper into debt....imagine me accepting all of the above.
Your service has been shocking and I am going to move to another bank. I have been chatting with another big bank that has been more than accommodating into helping me decrease/consolidate my debt into 1 lower monthly installment.
FNB has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
