FICA KYC department are ***********!!!

In the middle of May I received a surprising email from FNB to say that my business account needed to be FICA-ed (after 6 years of the account being opened). I submitted the required documents and the last communication I received from them was on the 16th May 2016. On Friday the 17th June 2016 I received a text message at 5:30pm to say that a transactional hold was going to be placed on my account. I spent over an hour on the phone on hold to get through to someone, but to no avail. So Sa****ay the 18th June 2016 I presented myself at the Rosebank branch to which I was told (after much investigation) that the FICA documents had all been submitted correctly on the account and that this was more than likely due to an error by the FICA department that they had not removed accounts in good order from the bulk sms. Come Wednesday 22nd June 2016 I get a further SMS to say that a transactional hold will be placed on the account in 24 hours. So I promptly called the number and after 45mins of holding my call was answered. I spent a further 20mins on the telephone whilst the call centre consultant double checked whether all my documents had been received. He confirmed that they had and informed me that he was going to ensure that the account was transferred over to the FICA-ed accounts. Today 23rd June 2016 I received a further sms at 12h30 to say that a transactional hold had been placed on the account (which it had been done). I have spent from 12h30 to 14h00 trying to speak to someone within the FICA department and no one has picked up my call. I have phoned business banking 3 times to request that the transactional hold be lifted. My business requires the account to be transactional and will potentially result in a loss of income if this is not possible. And quite frankly no one at FNB seems to care about this. The cherry on the top as well as that FNB does not have a complaints department that can be called, but rather you need to send an email. Given the track record of FNB’s email response times I have little to no faith that my complaint will be heard and for all FNB cares my account could have a transactional hold for as long as they feel. Therefore I hope that this get’s out to the greater public and you consider very carefully about potentially “switching” your business bank account.
