False Advertising

On 27Feb 2016... My husband and I had an appointment with one of the consultants at FNB Randfontein branch...to open an account with them.

The consultant (Brian) that helped asked for our documents which we gave him...He then went ahead and opened the account (Premier Account) he also asked if we had already closed our account at our previous bank, which we rep**** by telling him "not yet" he then advised us to do so as soon as possible. Which we later tried to....

Now FNB's biggest advertising is when they tell people they can help you switch and smile.... But in our case it was the complete opposite...

When the account was opened we then asked the consultant if everything was Ok, he then told us everything is done we shouldn't stress...

We then rated his service and left...

At the end of March when we expected debits to go off the new FNB account. . We were shocked to discover that our debits were not switched successfully and nobody bothered to tell us. As a result service providers went looking for money at the previous bank and found nothing, thereby making us unreliable and ************* customers. The old Bank went on further to tell me that they will not be able to close our account until the charges incurred due to returned debits are settled.

I then went to the FNB branch to make them aware, as well tell them I WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO PAY THOSE FEES AS I WAS MADE TO BELIEVE THAT OUR DEBITS WERE SWITCHED SUCCESSFULLY....

the manager there told me she will forward my complaint.. And get back to me... Which she never did until I AGAIN had to follow up and ask her how far is my query.. This to me is unacceptable... Because FNB makes people believe they can make a customer happy. This is not true

From that day till today I've been sent from pillar to post with nobody coming back to us to inform us of what is happening with this issue..

To the CEO of FNB....

Is this how you treat your clients?

Are your employees trained to be so arrogant towards their customers?

Why do you say... "get switched and smiling"When it's not actually the case?

I would like this matter to be resolved so that I can carry on with my life
