Failure to Finalise Credit Status Despite Full Account Resolution
Good Day
I am writing to formally escalate an ongoing issue regarding the finalisation of my credit status, despite the resolution of the outstanding accounts as documented in this email thread.
As a reminder: Credit Card Account (Closed): On January 13, 2026, Fayrola Moola confirmed that the credit card account was written off in full and closed. This was explicitly stated to be because "The funds were the result of toll fees that were claimed late from the government and have subsequently prescribed." I want to reiterate my sincere appreciation for Fayrola's outstanding service in clarifying and resolving this initial matter. Other Account (Paid and Closed): Following a payment of R 4401.30 on January 20, 2026, Pather & Pather Attorneys issued a paid-up letter (attached in the January 23rd email) and confirmed their file was closed. Lucia Chikede also confirmed the file was recalled and closed on their side on January 16, 2026. Despite confirmation that both matters are fully resolved, I have been informed that FNB is currently unwilling to move my credit status back to normal due to a distinction being made between the accounts that were 'settled' and the one that was 'PAID' (not settled).
This distinction is preventing the finalisation of my affairs, and as such, I require urgent assistance from a relevant department to have my credit status updated to accurately reflect the full resolution and closure of all accounts.
I would greatly prefer to resolve this internally and quickly. Please note that any potential external complaint would be directed toward the institutional process that is now obstructing my credit status, and not against the excellent service provided by Fayrola Moola. Your prompt intervention in rectifying my credit status is highly appreciated.
Furthermore, this is not the first instance of a commitment failure. Following my formal complaint submission to ***, I was guaranteed a 24-hour reply along with a reference number for tracking. This commitment was also not honoured, which serves as yet another clear demonstration of the institutional shortcomings and lack of timely commitment to resolving customer complaints and adhering to internal service level agreements.
Kind regards,
Meyer
