Failure to close cheque account

I am dissapointed with the service I am receiving from FNB. I am a Premier Cheque account holder with them. I had decided to close the account and on the 26 April I had a chat on the FNB app with Mukthaar Goolam Mahomed. I informed him that I want to close the cheque account. He advised that he has logged a call and someone will call me in 24 - 48 hours.

Nobody called me. On the 3rd of May I went to the Natal Branch, Durban 085 branch in Durban CBD to close the account. The consultant who assisted me informed that I must phone the number on the back of the card for assistance.

On the same day I phoned the Premier Suite number, ********** , and was assisted by Nthabiseng. I informed her of my intentions and that I was advised on the app that I would be called back in 48 hours. She confirmed from her side that a call was logged on the system for my query. She promised that she will escalate this matter to her supervisor and I would receive a call that very same day. The call never came.

I again called back at FNB on the 8th of May. I spoke to Nonhlanhla and I again the situation to her. She advised that the query should have gone to their closure department. On my insistence she advised that I was allocated to an Esther who was on leave!! She then advised that she has sent them an email to attend to my query. She assured me that I would be contacted that same day, more lies!! The reference for this call was ********** 407.

To this day nobody has called me regarding closure of my check account. I need FNB to respond soonest to this disappointing service. Who will pay for unprocessed debit orders on this account, one service provider advised that they will try to collect even though I have changed my banking details with them as their system effects changes after 30 days.
