FAILING TO PROPERLY MANAGE A DECEASED ESTATE

Our mother passed away on the 8th September 2014 and without too much assistance from FNB's side our sister managed to gather all relevant information that FNB required in order to allow the Master's Office to appoint them as the executors as stipulated in her will. We have been supp**** with documented proof from FNB that the documents had been received and signed for by the Masters office in Pretoria on the 30 October 2014 however to date no appointment has been finalized. When, in early February of 2015, we had still not received confirmation of an executors appointment my sister contacted the appointed official in the Port Elizabeth branch and boy what a run around we have been given. The official responsible informs us that they have messengers visiting the Masters office twice a week (that would be 28 visits by the time we contacted them) but that the appointment had as yet not been finalized. Only after our inquiry in February did the official make direct contact with the Masters office. I fail to understand that FNB could sit over backwards for 3 full months and at no stage bother to follow-up on an outstanding letter of executorship - frightening to say the least.
