Failed transaction and subsequent reserved funds

I recently tried to purchase items online from the US, the transaction then failed, however FNB still reserved the funds on my CC, they actually reserved it twice...

I have been in contact with the merchant as well as the FNB call centres, FNB seems not to understand what is going on and the blanket response I am getting from everybody is that the merchant will bank the money and the merchant needs to cancel the transaction from their side... Now the merchant, who I believe to be correct, has said that on their side the transaction is completed (failed) and they never took money from me nor will they ever bank this money, therefore they also can't cancel anything from their side. I have all this correspondence on email, yet every single person at FNB keeps telling me the same thing, no they will bank it and they must cancel it. Meanwhile this money is just sitting in reserve and I can't touch it.

I have also contacted the FNB premier banking via the form on the website where it says they will reply within 1 working day, its been almost 3 days now, still no response. I am sick and tired of FNB not being able to tell me what will happen to this money and what time frames are.
