Failed Immediate Payment Request

I made an immediate payment from my Fnb account to my Capitec account on 2nd Sep 2021 at 17:53 and up to the point of writing this review the funds does not reflect in my Capitec account nor has it been received back in my FNB account. I have spent an entire day trying to sort this out in an effort to gain access to my funds in either of the accounts... now more than 24hours later, despite all my efforts and personal time sacrificed... I find myself between 2 financial institutions blaming each other and nobody can give me any proof of who is at fault... Leaving me the consumer to deal with the consequences of not having access to my own funds. This is ludicrous, why am I the party being affected if this is as a result of system issues between Multi Nationals and their respective processes out of my control... I mean there is a reason behind paying an additional fee to clear a payment made on the receiving side immediately ... In most of these cases the primary reason is linked to some sort of an urgent requirement for the funds to be accessible immediately in the receiver's account, if the bank/s fail to deliver on this priority service that does not come free it would result in 90% of the cases the receiving party finding him/herself in an emergency or at least a very uncomfortable position. Not only are left at the mercy of extremely incompliant call centre staff not having the necessary skills, access rights or understanding to sort out what is in the first case NOT supposed to be your problem to start with.... Requesting to speak to a team leader or manager in the call centre is more difficult as compared to getting the President available for a chat on his personal cell phone... How dear you ask for an opportunity to speak to someone who might be able to assist or at least steer you in the right direction... These Holy individuals are more protected than the Javan rhinoceros which is by the way the no. 1 most endangered animal species last time I checked. Each and every time I request this from either of the banks, I am being told that they are NOT available but would call me back ASAP......... Blah blah blah, this obviously never happens. Explain something to me... Why do I need to wait for an investigation between the internal affairs of 2 Banks before I can access my funds after a failed service delivery on either side of the banks? I mean the money was available in my FNB account, I paid an additional service fee to FNB to also have it available immediately in Capitec after making the payment.... For a specific reason in mind... yet my new reality is as follows! The funds have left my Fnb account till now not reflecting in my Capitec account and both these corporations blaming each other at the cost of detriment of not having access to the funds at all. Let's be real!!! This is not acceptable by any standards and nor should this cause any discomfort or delay to have access to the funds on either side.... Being it the receiving side if it's been deducted on the sender's side or back in the senders account in the event of a failed immediate payment request.... Surely huge Banks can take it upon themselves to sort out their respective internal system issues without impacting the client by either 1 of the following simple options. One, return the funds to the sender immediately, also refunding his/her service fee, that way you at least allow sender to be in a position to explore alternative ways of getting funds to the receiving party, utilizing the same funds that was allocated to the initial request that resulted in a failed immediate payment request…. alternatively, Option 2 making the funds available in the receiving account because it has been deducted from the sender's account.... so technically one of these banks is control of the funds post deduction and not returned.... AND THEN by all means can they take their damn sweet time blaming each other and pointing fingers at one another for a period of 7days or more BUT this time around NOT at the expense or discomfort of their respective clients.... IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK? Looking at this whole saga I realised something, the reality here is actually very simple... These institutions are using us to remind them of what their responsibilities are... If you, their client who is most probably in desperate need of the funds and as a result constantly following up in an effort to get access to the funds... Don't do what we do... None of these cases would ever be resolved or even get any attention from either of the banks without us being the constant reminder or "notification required" to resolve outstanding matters so to speak!!! One thing for sure, I am extremely motivated to put an end to this "****" of banks informing us to only expect our own funds which by the way was available to the sender prior to the transaction to only now become available to either of the parties 7 days later.... of course, pending the outcome of their internal investigations on each other’s' systems or processes which we the client (at this stage the victim) has got absolutely no control over.... But no doubt, it is expected of us to be the only party around the table that is placed in some sort of discomfort or disadvantage until such a time or point where the two banks finally see eye to eye and one admits defeat by another for whatever reasons... Only then will the funds be made available to the desperate client. NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
