Faceless Nameless Bandits

It has now been a week since this wunch of bankers **** to me and stole nearly a year's salary from my bank account. They have admitted to having a recorded copy of the telephone conversation during which their staff member **** to me. Seems to me they have been spending their time trying to edit the recording, trying to cover their tracks and spread more lies and deceit. They certainly haven't been trying to resolve the situation or help their client. A week! What are people supposed to do when their banks ***** all their money and refuse to even communicate with them or respond to queries?

"address this matter urgently"?

What does that mean in FNB language?

This was urgent a week ago. As far as I am aware, absolutely nothing has been done during the past 7 days.

Naomi, exactly when can I expect a final resolution? Give me a time and a date. Surely if this is "urgent", someone within FNB is actively running around beating down doors, dragging people out of meetings, interrupting golf games, shortening smoke breaks, and actually investigating this critically urgent matter? If this is indeed the case, then surely I can expect a definite answer by close of business today? 7 days after I raised the alarm? Anything else is not "urgent".

To clarify - I was expecting, and would have accepted, an exchange rate of 16.8 when I followed YOUR instructions and moved more cash then I was comfortable with. I moved this amount purely because I had been promised a "better rate" if I moved more than R50 000.

If FNB had offered me a different rate on the day, I would have rejected it, kept the R50 000 and moved smaller amounts over the past week, benefitting from the stronger rand on a daily basis.

I have now lost a reasonable sum of money because of FNB's lies and incompetence.

FNB can either compensate me for the difference between the rate I was actually given and the rate I would have accepted, depositing the difference (roughly R900) into my local FNB bank account. Or refund the entire amount that was taken on 24 May, including commission and SWIFT charges, and I will take my business elsewhere.

The only other alternative - and I do not believe this is possible, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt - is for FNB to provide me with a copy of the recorded conversation and convince me that I did not follow Brenda's instructions on 24 May, and that I somehow got my side wrong. I remember asking more than once, was she absolutely positive that the online application she told me to complete would not go through, and that someone would definitely call me back with a better rate. She confirmed that the online application she told me to complete would not go through. Yet it did.

I look forward to an URGENT resolution.
