FNB-WORST BANK TO DEAL WITH

I visited FNB- Chatsworth on the 2018-10-18 with my gran to take out a funeral policy and to our amazement, the system declined even though she was under 65. Please note, she was turning 65 in a few days but the consultant at the branch said that the system did not offer a funeral policy but instead It offfered life cover for ridiculous premiums. We then proceeded to a different bank with a similar incident although the consultant and the team leader escalated the matter and resolved it on the same business day. Wow, something I'm sure will be foreign to FNB as it seems they don't go out of their way to assist customers. We then proceeded back to FNB- Chatsworth the following day to see if the consultant could assist, she clearly stated that it had never been done before but she contacted the call centre nonetheless. I was told that the query will be resolved with someone from the call centre giving us feedback of the outcome. We received the following reference Fccr1cmxv5103 - ********** 949 And let me be clear, no one called me yet this matter was urgent. I proceeded to call ********** before the close of business and the lady by the name of Jane was very rude. The call was referered to another person, I think his name is Ntando, and then the call ended as I was trying to explain. I called back and was told that the department that handles these types of queries was closed and that I should have called earlier. How could I when I was the one that was supposed to have been called back. Dropped the ball, much? Something the other banks strive not to do. The issue at hand is that how can a bank claim 65 is the cut off age but not allow someone that was currently 64 to take out a policy. Furthermore, no other banks gave us an issue. In fact, Standard Bank actually went out of their way to assist us and we received excellent service from the other banks as well. It was just FNB who not only gave us a hassle, but didn't even bother to find a solution. In my opinon, FNB should actually make it mandatory for their staff to bank with other banks so that they discover what excellent service and good customer experience is. If my matter is not attended to, I shall not recommend FNB to anyone and I most certainly will tell others about the poor response I received from the call centre as I liase with a lot of business customers. I shall be posting on other forms of media as I was highly inconvenienced and received pathetic service should there be no response.
