Extremely poor and pathetic customer service
I have been a customer of FNB since 2012 and its actually disappointing to say that with the high end services that they offer, the customer experience is extremely appalling. I have had countless issues with FNB in the past 2 years. Of recent, I switched over to a Private Clients account paying R420 a month for account fees and was assigned a private banker. She was unhelpful to say the least, would not respond to my messages timeously and I would have to follow up with her regularly for feedback on my queries. When I had requested for my banker to be changed, she called to apologize immediately, which I actually find quite frustrating as she failed to be as prompt on every other occasion. More than a month later, I see my request to change my banker has not been processed and I still have the same banker. All I get is "I do apologize for that" followed by "we have escalated your query". I then called in and spoke to a consulted that confirmed the request was received but not actioned and she could not give me a reason as to why this was not done. I also took out a home loan with FNB that was registered on the 08/07/2022 of which I qualified for 50% back of my first bond instalment in ebucks. According to the information on the website, the allocation of ebucks is to be done 60 days after my first repayment and that has not been done. My second debit order has gone off and I still have not received anything. I was transferred to another consultant to assist me which she then changed the whole story stating that it gets allocated in the third month after the second debit order and she cant help me further because I need to speak to someone in the home loans department. This is the pattern in every query that I lodge with FNB, I am transferred from department to department with little to no satisfaction on the outcome of my query. Furthermore, I would assume that paying such a large fee to be on the private clients option and providing a private banker would be to assist us with these issues rather than us having to spend time and money being transferred. The tone that you get from all the consultants regardless of the department is that the lack of interest to listen to and understand the need of the customer and the willingness to assist in finding a resolution. I once had a consultant constantly sighing loudly over the phone. Shouldn't the QA department pick this up and address this matter??? This is not a free public service provided to us, we pay alot of money from account fees, to bank fees etc. At this point in time, I would definitely consider switching banks and I am sure I am not the only customer that feels this way. FNB, your service really does not uphold your values at all!
