Extremely Disappointed With FNB - New Business Account Has Left My Business Without Access to Funds
I am a very disappointed new FNB business banking customer, and I am honestly beginning to regret moving my business account to FNB. I recently secured a project and decided to move my business banking from Capitec to FNB because I believed FNB would offer better business banking tools and make running my business easier. Unfortunately, my experience so far has been the complete opposite. Instead of peace of mind, I am stressed, frustrated and now unable to properly run my business. I opened a new FNB business account and, as advised by FNB, transferred funds from my Capitec account to the new FNB account in order to activate it. I made an instant payment on Monday. The funds were successfully deducted from my Capitec account, and I have proof of payment confirming this. While I was still at the FNB branch, I was told that the money would clear later. I waited. 24 hours later, the funds were still not reflecting in my FNB account. I went back to the branch the following day, but the queue was extremely long, so I decided to call FNB for assistance instead. This is where my frustration became even worse. FNB referred me back to Capitec. Capitec confirmed that the payment had successfully left their bank and provided confirmation that the funds had been sent. They are investigating from their side. My question is: What is FNB doing to investigate why the money has not reached my FNB account? If the payment has left Capitec successfully, has it been rejected or returned by FNB? Is it being held somewhere? Was there an issue with the new account? Why has nobody at FNB been able to provide me with a clear answer? Instead, I keep being sent back to Capitec, despite Capitec confirming that the funds have left their system. This is extremely disappointing, particularly because I moved my business account to FNB specifically because I expected better business banking services and tools. I have been banking with Capitec and have never experienced a situation like this where my funds disappear between the sending and receiving bank and I am left to chase both institutions for answers. The most serious part is that these are business funds, and I now have no access to the money I need to operate my business. My business has effectively been brought to a standstill. I have projects to run, expenses to pay and commitments to meet. I cannot operate a business when my money is unavailable and nobody can tell me where it is. I am a brand-new FNB customer, and this is unfortunately the first impression FNB has given me. I need FNB to take ownership of this matter, investigate the transaction from its side and provide me with a clear explanation of what happened to my funds and when they will be available in my account. I moved to FNB expecting a better banking experience. At this point, I am seriously questioning whether I made the right decision.
