EXPLOITATION

I have a business account with FNB and I found an amount of R460 for paid items. I am appalled that FNB, that is supposed to be a forward thinking bank that supports entrepreneurs, charges its customers R155 and R50 as honouring fees for payments made of R52 and less. This is outright exploitation and worse than what loan sharks do. I am being charged more than double the amount used, it’s SHAMEFUL. The bank is practically punishing its customers for not having money. If I didn’t have the money to honour those payments, where the heck does it think I’m going to get the money to pay these ridiculous fees. It wasn’t even two weeks that the fees where paid. These fees make no sense and should be regulated. I would have rather had the payments declined than have to pay these outrageous fees

Reviewer Update
Since I lodged my complaint I received a call and email from FNB acknowledging receipt of my complaint. I had a further email from them on Tuesday responding to a complaint I did not lodge, i.e. my complaint was not read carefully. Therefore, no resolution. I responded to this email on Tuesday addressing this issue and received an automated email that they would respond within 24 hours. It’s more than 48 hours later and I’m still waiting.
